The MERLIN MAGIX® Integrated System supports up to 80 lines and 200 extensions. Businesses can easily enhance their MERLIN MAGIX® Integrated System by adding any of a growing number of e-business, customer service, or computer telephony integration (CTI) applications. The MERLIN MAGIX Integrated System simplifies administration and maintenance, which can reduce operating costs. Programming is via a user-friendly, graphical user interface (GUI)- based software application: the Microsoft Windows-based System Programming and Maintenance (WinSPM) software. This application provides on-screen icons and menu choices to guide system administrators through the administration process. The processor module is the “brain” of the system, a miniature computer that controls system features and diagnostics, as well as the traffic among the modules. The processor module has built in 2 jacks, one for SMDR and one for local system programming, and a built in modem for remote programming. There is also a slot for PCMCIA card for backup/restore/upgrade applications. You can program the system through an MLX-20L on an MLX module, 4424LD+ on a TDL module, or through WINSPM either locally through the admin port or remotely thru the built in modem.

Supports of a 100 DCD Module

The 100 DCD modules provide a built-in channel service unit (CSU) and data service unit (DSU). Using this module eliminates the need to attach an external CSU/DSU, thereby Allowing easier routing of calls. The 100 DCD module has the same signaling modes as the 100D and 100R INA modules, including the ability to use T1 or PRI configuration.

 Tests for the 100R INA and 100 DCD Modules Three new Tests apply to both the 100R INA and 100 DCD modules:

* Line Loop back Test

* Payload Loop back Test

* Bit Error Rate Test (BERT)

Automatic Daylight Savings Time Feature This new feature allows the system to automatically set the system clock ahead or back one hour when Daylight Savings Time starts or ends. Automatic Route Selection Feature Enhancement Because of the changes in facilities and dial plans across the USA and Canada.

WinSPM 4.0 WinSPM 4.0 software offers an automatic conversion program via the DOS-emulator version of SPM and flow control for the programming thru the serial port or remotely thru the built in modem.

Station Responding Test., you can run a Station Responding Test to check the connection between an extension and the system.

Touch-Tone Receiver Test. The Touch-Tone Receiver Test runs as an audit on the system. It is not a demand test but runs continuously in the background as a maintenance Check. This test checks every touch-tone receiver (TTR) in the system modules, including those in the MERLIN Messaging System. If a TTR fails the test, a permanent error Is logged and the TTR becomes maintenance busy.
